Penn State Presidential Search

Blue and White Vision Council

In November 2012, the Blue and White Vision Council was commissioned to identify key strategic challenges and opportunities facing Penn State over the next several years. The Council was composed of student, faculty, staff, academic and campus leadership, as well as representatives from Penn State Hershey Medical Center and the Board of Trustees. Stanley Ikenberry, former president of the American Council on Education and past president of the University of Illinois and current senior fellow at Penn State, advised the council.

"A Vision for Penn State: A Report of the Blue and White Vision Council," along with the Presidential Profile developed by executive search consultant Isaacson, Miller, provides critical information to support and assist in the presidential search effort and will be particularly beneficial to those considering this leadership opportunity. In addition to identifying challenges and opportunities, the Report also notes qualities of character and leadership desired in Penn State’s next president.
