Han is a vascular surgeon and vice chair for educational affairs in the Department of Surgery at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine. As a nationally recognized surgeon and an expert in healthcare policy issues, he has served as program director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship and director of vascular research. He also has been an adviser and mentor to countless students and residents in the College of Medicine.
After graduating with honors from Penn State, he received his doctor of medicine from Harvard Medical School in 1992. Subsequently, he completed a residency and fellowship at Emory University and a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Mayo Clinic.
Han returned to Penn State in 2002, and has been a member of the Penn State Alumni Association’s Alumni Council since 2000, serving on its Executive Board, chairing numerous committees and serving as president (2007–09), and immediate past president (2009–11) of the Penn State Alumni Association. In 2011, he was named an Alumni Fellow at Penn State. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
